Canon categorizes its camera bodies in terms of compatibility with the advanced flash features of its EX Speedlites. Features such as High-Speed sync (Focal-Plane flash), wireless flash control, and Flash exposure lock (FEL) were made available to users of compatible EOS cameras, which were designated "Type A".
Older cameras could only make use of basic features, and were designated as "Type B" in Canon's literature.
Unfortunately, even within the designations "Type A" and "Type B", there are minor and confusing irregularities. The most important of these is that "Type A" film SLRs can shoot with older EZ Speedlites. However, "Type A" digital SLRs will NOT couple automatically with older EZ series Speedlites, and can only be operated with the Speedlite in (manual) fixed power modes.
This document tries to distinguish camera bodies into subtypes for clarity. To prevent surprises when shooting, check your equipment combination against the table below.
D2000/D6000 or the Kodak equivalent DCS 520 / 560 are Type A, but they do not have Modeling Light and Second Curtain functions

Please add the ML-3 to the charts. I think it would be an A-TTL, but not 100% certain. Thanks. dan

No, the ML-3 is TTL only.

The st-e2 manual said flash ratio can only be set for eos3 body. its there any documents that states st-e2 ratio can be set for 10d or 20d body.
Which digital camera body is compatible with st-e2 for flash ratio.

E-TTL II bodies do not do basic E-TTL at all - bodies do one or the other or neither.

The 5D will fire a TTL flash unit at full power (not a lot of use I admit ... but this is a 'enhancement' over the 20D which will not trigger the flash at all). I tested this with an ML-3. Jim Healey
