The Canon Elan 7E family of cameras (also marketed as the EOS 7, EOS 30, EOS 33) offers several options for remote shutter release: the RS-60E3 which plugs into the side of the camera, and the RC-1 and RC-5 wireless remote controllers.
Choosing which option to buy ought to be easy. Unfortunately, each of these options offers different and sometimes undocumented features when combined with different camera operating modes, such as Mirror Lockup (MLU), Self-Timer, and Auto-Exposure Bracketing (AEB). To add to the confusion, behaviour in BULB mode can be different again!
This table shows the behaviour of my Elan 7E camera under the conditions specified on the left. The strangeness of the behaviour is colour-coded as follows:
Totally unexpected behaviour: e.g. When set to continuous wind does not wind continuously
Partially unexpected behavour: e.g. 10 second delay before BULB shot
Usual operating mode
Works, but is not the usual operating mode. e.g. Holding the shutter button in single-frame mode does not result in continuous shooting.
Great page. You posted a link to this to the Elan 7 list and said what the red table cells means. But you didn't say what the other colors mean. You may want to place a legend on the page somewhere.

RED=totally unexpected behaviour (e.g. set to continuous, but does not wind continuously; OR set to MLU, but does not do MLU);
YELLOW=partial unexpected behaviour (e.g. bulb shot after a 10s delay);
GREEN=usual operation;
GREY=works, but is not the suggested operating mode (e.g. holding down shutter button in single-frame does nothing special).

Has anybody tested to see if there are any differences in behaviour with the new Elan 7N/7NE/EOS 30V/33V bodies? Mark U
